with a luscious drizzle of gum arabic...
After wiping off the actual drawing and inking the etched stone up, all that black just blossomed out.

nenek's portrait
this is the chinese peony pattern for nenek's portrait base...it's a matte woodcut relief print with a drypoint over it. the woodcut provides the texture (sort of worn-floral-sofa flaking); the drypoint puts the lines in and gives a glowing sheen (because of the oil-ink)

several kinds of sticking papers did not work
but the problem of not being able to print the smallest type was solved by a wonderful 100p yellow mesh ..
this lets you have finer 'pixels' on your screen stencil.
